St. Gallen, June 2015 – Belgium achieved yesterday in St Gallen its first Nations Cup win after 1934, when the team was victorious in Geneva: therefore this is an historical success for the team led by Dirk Demeersman. But the most important aspects to point out is that the Belgian performance was really outstanding in the second round, when all members were clear but just one time fault. There was no room for Switzerland although two double clear signed by Romain Duguet on Querida de Treho and Martin Fuchs on Clooney: unfortunately the two big guns Steve Guerdat aboard Nino des Buissonnets and Pius Schwizer on Amira collected 4/8 and rit/16 respectively. Therefore home team’s total of 12 faults was not enough compared to Belgium’s 9: Dream of India Greenfield (Pieter Devos) 5/0, Pommeau du Heup (Niels Bruynseels) 4/1, Domino (Jos Verlooy) 0/0, Conrad de Hus (Gregory Wathelet) 8/0. Third place went to Ireland with 13 faults, then GErmany 14, France 21, Great Britain 29, Italy 32, The Netherlands 44.
