Las Vegas, February 2015 –Countdown has started: 53 days left to the double final event in Las Vegas, 37th and 30th edition of show jumping and dressage World Cup series, respectively staged for the first time in 1979 and in 1985.
History never grows tired of repeating itself, coming back to the USA for the tenth time, where the cream of the equestrian world has already written its names.
Baltimora in 1980, Tamba in ‘89 and Del Mar in ‘92 for the show jumping finals, and Los Angeles in 1995 for the dressage final.
The five left were all held in Las Vegas: show jumping in 2000 and 2003 and then, in 2005, the first combined edition with both disciplines, together again on the same ground in 2007 and 2009.
This year the tenth anniversary of this equestrian marriage will be celebrated in Nevada city, where top quality sport is expected. The American riders will try their best to sparkle under the lights, having won in show jumping world cup history seven out of the first nine victories, with the 2012 and 2013 editions added 24 years later, by Rich Fellers and Beezie Madden. In dressage supremacy has been until now a German, Dutch or British prerogative but the USA also had its beloved rider with Steffen Peters winning with Ravel the 2009 final.
Time is almost over and the curtain is about to be raised on the 15th April.
