Bologna, April 22, 2021 – On May 21, 22 and 23, the grass arena of Club de Campo Villa de Madrid will receive once again the best riders and horses in the world with the celebration of the second leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour and the Global Champions League.
The tour started in Doha last February. Madrid will be the first CSI5 * outdoor in Europe this season, a challenge for the 110th edition of the oldest international equestrian event in the city.
The sports program will have a CSI5 * and a CSI1 *. With 15 classes in total taking place during the three days of competition, six of them will count for the Longines FEI Ranking.
Almost € 1,000,000 in prizes will be distributed among the approximately 130 riders who will jump representing more than 30 countries.
As tradition, the most important events will be the Longines Global Champions Tour Gran Prix of Madrid on Saturday and the King’s Cup. As a novelty this year, it will be sponsored by Caser Seguros and will take place on Sunday afternoon, May 23, closing of the event.
The CSI1 * will include classes from 1.15m to 1.40m and a total of € 42,000 in prizes. It is an ideal program for those riders who want to compete, alongside the best riders in the world.
