Bologna, October 28, 2021 – The Equitana Innovation Award is one of the most prestigious international awards in the equestrian sector. In the jubilee year of the World Equestrian Show, it will be given additional charisma. For the first time, the creative developments will not only compete in the tried and tested categories for the favour of the expert jury, they will also be put to the vote of the consumers.
A stage with a wide reach
The nominated products present themselves in moving images on the Equitana social media channels and demonstrate how they make everyday stable life more beautiful, safer and easier. Then it’s up to the users. With their click, they determine the winners in the preliminary round within the various categories such as health, feed, training technology, stable, indoor and riding arena construction. Indoor and riding arena construction. The winners of the preliminary round compete directly against each other in the final. The product that convinces the most users on the net will receive the audience award. “With this additional category, we would like to offer the equestrian sports industry a high-reach stage and the innovative products even greater attention,” says Equitana Director Christina Uetz. Especially after the Corona-related restrictions and difficulties of the past few years and the postponement of central events such as Equitana, this is of crucial importance for the market, she says.
Longer product runtime
In order to give as many exhibitors from all over the world as possible the opportunity to enter their new products for the Innovation Award, the product runtime has been extended once to 24 months due to the pandemic. Ideas that under normal circumstances would have been among the nominees in March 2021 thus also have the chance to be included. Registration will be possible from mid-November onwards. The Innovation Award ceremony, which will be held by Equitana in cooperation with the trade magazine Pferdebetrieb, will take place during the World Equestrian Show in Essen from 7 to 13 April 2022.
