Verona, November 2015 – Everybody thought that everything was over once number one in the world Scott Brash aboard Hello M’Lady caught on top of the current standings Ludger Beerbaum on Chaman setting the same result, therefore sharing the first provisional place. But how wrong we were… ! Proving why this is by far his best season ever, France’s Simon Delestre on Ryan des Hayettes went unpredictably fast: being the final winner of the Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix in Verona. And when everybody was still shocked after such an emotion, Sweden’s Henrick von Eckermann almost unnoticed came in second place after a brilliant performance. This was the end of a spectacular Grand Prix with fifteen riders qualified for the final jump off out of 39 starters. Today Delestre took the lead in the current standigs of the Western European League (49 points) ahead of Penelope Leprevost (40) and Romain Duguet (35). But it’s still a long way to reach the final next April: anything can happen…
