Geneva, December 2015 – Kent Farrington is one of the fastest riders in the world, particularly when riding Voyeur. If the poles stays up normally he wins: and normally the poles stays up. This is the case of tonight, when Geneva celebrated the fifteen Rolex/IJRC Top 10 final. Farrington was fourth to go in the second round and knowing that the last to go were the number one in the world, winner of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumpig, winner of this final last year – yes, the unbelievable Scott Brash on Hello Sanctos – he tried at his best: the clock stopped at 37.54, Voyeur galloped and turned and jumped furiously, but the US rider couldn’t be sure of his first place until the very end. Scott Brash finally came in. He knew that he would need a super round to be faster than Farrington, therefore he started trying to do that. After the first fences it seemed that Sanctos could do the job with that kind of wide and fast strides. But then Brash asked him a turn so tight that he couldn’t afford the jump as usual: four faults! And the smile rose on Farrington’s face… while Brash, slowing down ended in sixth place. Because of that four faults France’s Simon Delestre on Hermes Ryan des Hayettes climbed in second place and Germany’s Daniel Deusser in third: and they were the only double clear, both riding a beautiful performance.
