Münster, August 2016 –It was Marcus Ehning who took home the win in the Grand Prix with the “Münster Castle” view at Turnier der Sieger CSI4*. Riding Pret a Tout, the German rider made up the loss of not being competing in Rio, by winning after a challenging jump-off.
Only two out off 13 riders in the jump-off were not Germans and home rider Felix Hassmann rode full throttle with his Cayenne WZ putting 43.54 seconds on the clock. It took long time before someone could open the competition.
Riders as Philipp Weishaupt, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Christian Ahlmann all made mistakes seeking glory, and only Ehning made it clear with just a few tenths of a second crossing the finish line 43.25 seconds.
To heat the home crowd there was his compatriot Jens Baackmann who couldn’t go faster with his 11 year-old Cornet Obensky mare Carmen and finished in second place by a short margin, while Hassman ended in third position.
Fourth out of six legs of the DKB Riders Tour, the winner of the Turnier der Sieger Grand Prix 2016 is now the new leader of the ranking, with 38 points, ahead of the German Philip Rüping (34) and the Irish Cameron Hanley (30).
