Lausanne, September 2016 – From September 8 to 11, The Place de Bellerive will be the center of the top-level sporting challenge on the occasion of the first CSI5 *edition of The Longines International Horse Show Jumping of Lausanne.
This new event for the equestrian sport promises its share of excitement with the presence of some of the greatest riders in the world who chose to compete in the Olympic city of Switzerland after the Rio Olympics.
A total of 47 riders and 104 horses from 18 countries (Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Irland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and USA) will compete in the 6 labeled 5-star events, 5 of these events will count for the Longines Rankings.
Among the contenders for the podium of the Longines Grand Prix on Sunday (2:15 p.m.) the top riders Patrice Delaveau, World ranking No. 16, individual vice-world champion also by team in 2014 and Philippe Rozier, Olympic gold medalist by team in 2016 for France; William Funnel, European team champion in 2013 and Michael Whitaker, team member of the Rio Olympic Games, European team champion in 2013, for Great Britain; Abdelkebir Ouaddar, 13th at World Equestrian Games 2014 (Quickly Kreisker) for Morocco; Romain Duguet, team member of the Olympic Games in Rio, bronze team medalist at the European Championships in 2015, Paul Estermann, bronze team medalist at the European Championships in 2015, fourth by team in the Olympic Games in 2012, Martin Fuchs, member of the Olympic team in Rio, bronze medalist at the 2015 European Championships, gold medalist by team at the Olympic Youth Games 2010 and Janika Sprunger, team member at the Olympic games in Rio, bronze team medalist at the European Championships in 2015, for Switzerland, just to say some.
